Brief Bio

My 12 years as a professional artist has been an incredible journey of exploration and understanding. These days I’m focused on exposing the world to my imagination through my mural and design work. It’s a never-ending journey that motivates me daily.

Being an artist is a goal-come-true because I made the decision to leave corporate America in 2009 and dedicate my life to pursuing creativity. My art can be found throughout the States and in 15 countries including some of my favorites like Ghana, South Africa, Germany, and Colombia. The art I make is specially meant to amplify communities. I’m routinely using Adinkra symbols in my work as a blessing to the environment, like a charm of protection or a good vibration.

My coloring books are engineered to be activity books that kinetically challenge the reader whether they are a child or an adult. The “Hip Hop Coloring Book” and “Women of the Black Panther Party” activity book for example, incorporate a perfect blend of classic coloring book activities and original, creative exercises that makes learning both fun and engaging.

Thank you for supporting Creative Shields and my art + education work in communities here and abroad. I am currently taking on mural and workshop opportunities and can be reached at info@creativeshields.com
