Project: Sacred Ships

Description: This series is a tribute to the African Ancestors that were forced into the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Their ability to survive the slave castles, middle passage, & chattle slavery has proven them to be mentally, physically, & spiritually superior. That is how they survived . That is why their descendents continue to survive in the midst of the war on black and brown people. 

The following is a selection of designs that are sacred to the children of the Diaspora. The ship + The Adinkra Symbols form a sacred shield to remind us who we are, where we come from, and the power held within us.
